| | Greetings from Baton Rouge, Louisiana! If you happen to be at this Web site between 6 and 5, I'll be at my desk in my office. On my left is a daybed, the quilt is usually covered with reference books, an open map of London, various notes I have written myself, and a calendar of the 19th-century year in which my present manuscript is taking place. There is usually a cup of tea growing lukewarm on my desk; Earl Grey is my favorite. Now let me tell you how I imagine your setting...You're a career person on your lunch hour; or a young mother nursing a child; or a teenager trying to figure out your path in life; or a homemaker wishing for more hours in the day. Perhaps you're a grandmother surrounded by pictures of loved ones; or a single who feels invisible in a world geared to couples; perhaps you're a home-schooling mother catching a little private time. And you may be in a situation that I cannot even imagine. I may never meet you, but I pray for you, and thank God for allowing me to be a part of your life in a small way. May He fill your days with grace, joy, wisdom, and a bit of fun now and then! | | |
